Dr Stelios Giannakodimos, MD, graduated in 1983 from Medical School, University of Athens. After completing his qualification in Neurology (Boards in Neurology, Athens, 1992), he worked for 3 years (1993-1995) as Honorary Clinical and Research Fellow and Research Registrar at the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsies, St. Thomas’ Hospital, London, UK. From 1996 until present he works as Consultant Neurologist and Head of the Epilepsy Clinic and Seizure Monitoring Unit, at the Neurology Department, General Hospital of Athens, Greece. His main interests are idiopathic generalized epilepsy syndromes, antiepileptic drug treatment, clinical electroencephalography and presurgical evaluation of epilepsies. He has published 26 papers on epilepsies in peer-reviewed international and Greek journals, has contributed with 10 chapters in books on epilepsies, and has organised many national and international meetings and educational seminars on epilepsies. He has served as treasurer of the Association of Greek Neurologists (2003-2005) and treasurer of the Greek League Against Epilepsy (2005-present). |
